The project I’ve been working on for the Guildhall School of Music & Drama will be packed up and ready for delivery later this week. I’m looking forward to visiting the space once the refurbishment is complete to see the pieces in use.

I took some time in April to visit Milan for Salone del Mobile, the city’s renowned design and furniture fair. There’s a lot to take in during design week—an overwhelming amount, in fact—with major brands, endless events, and the usual “if your name’s not down, you’re not coming in” kind of energy.

One highlight was the DropCity exhibitions held in the tunnels beneath Milan’s main train station, especially a thoughtful show on Boxes. I also visited the Prada Fondazione for Typologien, an exhibition of 20th-century German photography.

I left feeling more overwhelmed than inspired, but events like these are still worth attending. They help clarify your own design tastes—even if it’s just by showing you what doesn’t resonate.

Upcoming project in Hackney for Theo & Conni — They were looking for a smart indoor solution to store their gravel bikes, instead of keeping them out on the flat’s balcony.

The bespoke unit will also include storage for a vinyl player, speakers, and their collection of cookbooks. All crafted from birch plywood with Formica-faced panels.

I spent the weekend walking through the New Forest with my friend Steve—a 30-mile loop over two nights of wild camping. We started in Lyndhurst, made our way down to the coast with views across to the Isle of Wight, then looped back up through yellow gorse-covered heathland and quiet forest trails.
