In my last newsletter I mentioned taking time out away from the workshop & my regular updates sharing completed or ongoing projects.

Here are a selection of the photos from my time away in August traveling to Denmark by bike.

This was the longest trip cycling & camping trip I’ve done, totaling 750km to my destination of Svendborg in southern Denmark.

I started off the journey on a ferry from Harwich to the Hook of Holland, making my way north along the Euro Velo 12. This route follows along the west coast of Holland, with a whole lot of headwinds (aka Dutch hills) and winding cycle paths interlaced with canals and rivers.

Making my way across the farmlands of north west Germany with sights set on the border of Denmark a week after my journey had started. The sun high in the sky and the promise of tasty pastries and coffees a plenty.

My hopes for the trip would be days filled with ideas and inspiration but route planning, packing up camp, cycling, avoiding rain, getting soaked, setting up camp became the day to day routine.

I have returned with a memory card filled with roadside photos, thoughts in my Notes app and a whole lot of camping equipment that needs to be used more often - cost per use and all that.
