CLIENT AGREEMENT - Bespoke

Thank you for commissioning A Collection Of.

Every piece is individually designed and made by hand. This agreement outlines how we'll work together, what you can expect from me, and what I'll need from you to help ensure your project runs as smoothly as possible.

This document should be read alongside the A Collection Of. Terms & Conditions, which form part of our agreement.

THE PROCESS

Every project follows the same general process.

1. DESIGN

We'll discuss your requirements and develop a design that responds to your space, needs and budget.

Drawings and visualisations are provided to communicate the agreed design intent, overall dimensions and specification of the project. Once you're happy with the proposal, the design will be approved before production begins.

2. FABRICATION

Your project is then built by hand in my workshop.

Unlike mass produced furniture, bespoke work continues to evolve throughout the making process. As fabrication progresses, minor refinements to construction details, proportions or manufacturing methods may be made where appropriate to improve functionality, structural integrity, material efficiency, longevity or the overall quality of the finished piece.

These refinements are a normal part of the bespoke making process and do not normally require approval, provided they do not materially alter the agreed design intent, appearance, function, dimensions or specification.

If I believe a proposed change will affect the appearance, functionality, dimensions, materials, hardware, cost or installation of your project, I'll always discuss it with you before proceeding.

3. INSTALLATION

Installation dates will be agreed in advance.

Every effort will be made to protect your home throughout the installation, and the workspace will be left clean and tidy at the end of each day.

DRAWINGS & DESIGN DEVELOPMENT

The drawings, sketches and visualisations supplied by A Collection Of. communicate the agreed design intent of your project. They illustrate the appearance, dimensions and specification of the piece but should not be considered manufacturing drawings.

As each piece is made by hand, minor workshop refinements may occur during fabrication where they improve the finished outcome. These refinements are an expected part of commissioning bespoke furniture.

PAYMENTS

Payment is made in three stages:

  • 25% deposit to confirm your project and reserve production dates.

  • 50% prior to ordering materials.

  • Final 25% upon completion of the installation.

Invoices are payable within seven days unless otherwise agreed.

TIMESCALES

Every project is made to order.

Estimated production and installation dates will be confirmed as the project progresses. Occasionally delays may occur due to supplier lead times, material availability or circumstances outside my control. If this happens, I'll keep you informed and provide updated timescales as soon as possible.

MATERIALS

Natural materials are unique, and variation is part of their character.

Timber grain, colour, knots and texture will naturally vary from piece to piece. Sheet materials such as birch plywood may also contain small manufacturer repairs or patches, which will be positioned as discreetly as possible.

These characteristics should be considered part of the material rather than defects.

BEFORE INSTALLATION

To help the installation run smoothly, please ensure that:

  • The room where the furniture is to be installed is clear and accessible.

  • Existing furniture has been removed where necessary.

  • The access route to the installation space is as clear as possible. Please remove any artwork, mirrors, wall hangings, light fittings or other fragile items from walls and circulation spaces where they may be at risk of accidental damage during the transportation and installation of the furniture.

  • Parking and access arrangements have been confirmed.

  • Any hidden pipes, cables or other services have been clearly identified before installation begins.

  • Pets and children are kept away from the working area during installation.

PHOTOGRAPHY

I enjoy documenting completed projects as part of my portfolio and ongoing practice.

Unless you request otherwise, I may photograph the completed installation for use on the A Collection Of. website, social media and other promotional material. If you would prefer your project not to be photographed, simply let me know before installation.

IF SOMETHING ISN'T RIGHT

My aim is for every client to be delighted with the finished piece.

If anything doesn't meet your expectations, please let me know as soon as possible. I'll always do my best to resolve any issues fairly, openly and professionally.

ACCEPTANCE

By accepting your quotation and paying the initial deposit, you confirm that you have read and accepted this Client Agreement together with the A Collection Of. Terms & Conditions.
